Liam Field Successfully Defends His Thesis

Congratulations to Liam Field for successfully defending his PhD thesis, "Post-capture Control and Dynamics of Tether-based Active Debris Removal Systems. " Liam is one of the first students to join the UB SSDC Lab and the third Ph.D. student to graduate from the Lab.

Liam started working on tethered satellite systems from a blank script as an undergraduate student, then moved on to an NSF project for his Ph.D. dissertation. He won 2 best student paper awards at international conferences for this work and published 3 journal papers.
